The financial cost of living crisis has impacted both businesses and customers alike and so support schemes have adapted, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Fortunately, support is still available to help businesses \u2014 particularly small business owners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Packages like the Recovery Loan Scheme were a vital lifeline for businesses across the UK. The readjusted GGS scheme, which launched in 2024, aims to continue offering much needed support.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Below, find out how you can apply for the latest version of the COVID-19 Recovery Loan Scheme. We&#8217;ll look at what the Growth Guarantee Scheme is and who can apply. The same is true for The Growth Guarantee Scheme, successor to the RLS, which launched with accredited lenders on the 1st July 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government has a <strong>70% guarantee (down from RLS&#8217; 80% guarantee)<\/strong> for all loans taken out through the GGS scheme, and the interest rates will vary from lender to lender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The actual amount offered and the terms is also determined by participating lenders. Those lenders include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/business.bankofscotland.co.uk\/business-loans\/growth-guarantee-scheme.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Bank of Scotland<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.barclayscorporate.com\/solutions\/corporate-lending\/growth-guarantee-scheme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Barclays<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/danskebank.co.uk\/business\/products-and-services\/loans-and-credit\/growth-guarantee-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Danske Bank<\/a> <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.business.hsbc.uk\/en-gb\/products\/growth-guarantee-scheme-loan\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HSBC<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.lloydsbank.com\/business\/business-loans\/growth-guarantee-scheme.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Lloyds Bank<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.natwest.com\/business\/loans-and-finance\/growth-guarantee-scheme.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">NatWest<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.santander.co.uk\/corporate\/solutions\/finance\/growth-guarantee-scheme\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Santander<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rbs.co.uk\/business\/loans-and-finance\/growth-guarantee-scheme.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">RBS<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.ulsterbank.co.uk\/business\/loans-and-finance\/growth-guarantee-scheme.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Ulster Bank<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Additional lenders can be found via the British Business Bank&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.british-business-bank.co.uk\/finance-options\/debt-finance\/growth-guarantee-scheme\/accredited-lenders\">current accredited lenders page<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"anc2\">Who Can Apply for the Growth Guarantee Scheme?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>A range of businesses can make a claim, so long as they meet the following criteria:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Are based in the UK<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open to smaller businesses with turnover up to \u00a345 million.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Undergo a viability test &#8220;but may disregard any concerns over its short-to-medium term business performance due to the uncertainty and impact of Covid-19&#8221; (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.british-business-bank.co.uk\/finance-options\/debt-finance\/recovery-loan-scheme\/recovery-loan-scheme-businesses\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">BBS<\/a>)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Can afford to repay the loan within six years.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is not in collective insolvency proceedings or in financial difficulty.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>The GGS can be claimed alongside previous COVID support schemes, such as the RLS, Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS) or the Bounce Back Loan Scheme (BBLS).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"anc3\">How Much Can I Claim on GGS?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Under the COVID-19 Recovery Loan Scheme, businesses were able to secure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>A fixed-term loan or overdraft of between \u00a325,000 and \u00a310 million per business<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Invoice or asset financing of between \u00a31,000 and \u00a310 million per business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>For GGS, the maximum amount is \u00a32 millions per business group<\/strong>. For busineses within the Northern Ireland Protocol, the maximum loan is \u00a31 million. GGS supports loans, overdrafts, finance, and asset-based lending facilities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The maximum length of the loan will be stated by the lender, but typically is between 3 months and up 6 years.
