They aren&#8217;t built to manage the complexities of commercial work, such as managing multi-site service contracts or tracking SLAs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Verdict: If you are a small, fully residential business, these software options can be good, but as we Jack warns in our webinar, <em>\u201cIf growing and scaling the business in the near future is really important, then maybe those software choices [are] not the best option for you\u201d<\/em>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Profile 2: The Large-Scale Construction Giants<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>These systems excel when you have teams on the same site for months or years at a time.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>They differ from most typical job management software, which may not function in the same way as a long-term project management tool. If you work in construction, it\u2019s worth a look, as FSM may not be the right fit for you:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Common Platforms: Procore, BuildOps<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Pros: Ideal for long-term project management, budgeting, and forecasting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Limitations: The very focus that makes them great for big builds makes them &#8220;cumbersome&#8221; for day-to-day service and maintenance. They\u2019re not the most intuitive tools and the steep learning curve can become a barrier for nimble service teams, even if you carry out residential and commercial work.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Verdict: Great for construction, but often requires a secondary tool to handle the actual service and maintenance side of the business.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Profile 3: The Premium Residential Specialists<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>In the US, this is often seen as the &#8220;dominant premium&#8221; choice for residential HVAC and plumbing companies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Common Platforms:<\/strong> ServiceTitan, Simpro.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Pros: Useful marketing features and &#8220;flat-rate pricing&#8221; tools built specifically for the residential niche can be helpful for managing a lot of jobs.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Limitations: Its greatest strength is its weakness.
