Commusoft, by the numbers
If you’re planning to swap to a new field service management software, then this comparison article will help you in your search.
Explore below to help you consider whether Commusoft or Joblogic is a better fit for your needs.
Quickfire Comparison: Commusoft vs Joblogic
Joblogic has a strong platform with a wealth of expertise to support a broad range of commercial field service businesses. PPM, asset tracking, and specialist features (such as F-Gas compliance tracking for commercial refrigeration and air conditioning) are genuine strengths. However, user feedback cites that the software’s broad industry reach means it lacks the accessibility preferred by multi-trade plumbing and heating businesses, which can lead to more admin and workarounds, rather than smooth workflows.
Commusoft is built with plumbing, heating, electrical & renewable businesses in mind. Commusoft gives businesses direct trade process control right out of the box, without software bloat. Every boiler history, job form, and service care plan is built for UK Gas Safe, OFTEC, MCS renewables, and electrical compliance. Our software connects office dispatch, fleet management, inventory management, analytics, customer alerts, and more, all in one place.
Every software has its limits, and for Commusoft, our software tends not to be the best fit for multi-year, construction projects. However Commusoft does align perfectly with plumbing and heating companies who carry out high-volume reactive work, regular installations, and recurring maintenance contracts.
The Best Way to Manage Growth
For your business, it may be that you’ve reached 50+ staff who are handling anywhere between 500 to 1,000+ jobs each week: at this scale, entry-level apps can crumble under high volume, while other field management suites may introduce unnecessary admin overhead.
Commusoft and Joblogic have the potential to overcome those pain points, but in different ways for different needs. We’ll explore these shortly.
If you’re in the market for software or trading over to explore new field service management software, it’s likely that your existing tools aren’t meeting your needs. This means staff are likely struggling with day-to-day activities—let alone managing growth—which can make for a more painful experience.
Whether you’re growing your fleet of vans, hiring more engineers to handle 1000s of jobs each week, or taking on additional office staff to better navigate job scheduling, you need an operational tool that can comfortably expand with you and sits within your niche.
Both Commusoft and Joblogic are established mid-market contenders in the UK, let’s explore the kind of business that each is best suited for so you can decide what’s best for your business:
At a Glance: Focused Software vs. One-size-fits-all
There’s no shortage of choice when it comes to field service management software. It will take time, and rightly so, to decide on which platform is the right fit for your business.
The type of work your business carries out will determine which software is right for your team, and that’s precisely the point.
Both Commusoft and Joblogic have a great deal of depth and are powerful tools that can be utilised in support of your business.
Joblogic Excels at Commercial Facility Maintenance
Joblogic is an undoubtedly strong choice—particularly where commercial contract management, asset management, and PPM workflows are concerned. This puts them in a strong position for commercial refrigeration and air conditioning work. Their analytics tools and internal marketplace of resources are also often cited as strengths of the software.
However, Joblogic lacks the focused workflows that Commusoft has in place.
User reports indicate that Joblogic’s breadth can make it feel unwieldy: like a complex juggernaut. While the system has many powerful capabilities—which is a genuine merit if you’re managing contracts with a lot of depth—this same depth comes at a cost to everyday accessibility.
Commusoft’s Reliable Workflows Operate at Commercial Scale
Commusoft gives growing contractors total control over daily operations and our powerful all-in-one software has specific workflows that enable a variety of industries to carry out both commercial andresidential work with ease, at scale, without overwhelming complexity.
It’s the visual job & sales pipelines that are particularly powerful in this regard: these streamline work from initial enquiry to final sign-off. With Sales, your team can track opportunities through their lifecycle, and with Sales+ add-on (more below) you can automate quote follow-ups, and move jobs through customized operational stages without losing momentum.
Throughout Commusoft, you’ll find the software enforces business rules automatically, meaning workflows are followed through, every time, without having to rely on staff to remember to do their paperwork.
The app makes it simple and easy to complete required fields.
Our software is optimised specifically for trades businesses focused on plumbing, heating, gas, renewable, and electrical maintenance and installation work.
Commusoft Core ties scheduling, engineer apps, trade compliance (CP12s, RAMS, MCS), stock tracking, and customer billing into one clear system.
Core tools include:
- A Unified Customer Hub
- Advanced Sales & Quoting Engine
- Integrated Fleet & Workforce Tracking

Below, we’ll explore more of who Commusoft and Joglogic are specifically built for.
Learn from businesses who have already made the switch to Commusoft from Joblogic!
Along with his brother, Will, Crawford chose to move away from Joblogic after feeling that Commusoft represented a better fit for their plumbing & heating business.
What we found with the previous diary management system was it wasn’t actually specific to plumbing and heating. It was more broad based.
You could tell it was used in other industries and so there’s loads of little ways that had knock-on effects and it wasn’t specifically serving our needs and our customer’s needs.

Who is Commusoft for?
Commercial-focused businesses are an equally strong fit as residential businesses who use Commusoft.
While Commusoft began as a software tool built for residential plumbing & heating businesses, much like many of the clients we’ve served for two decades, Commusoft’s capabilities have grown, too.
Today, that means Commusoft has many of the capabilities required to handle work at a commercial scale, allowing our clients to seamlessly adapt their services and deliver at scale, all whilst ensuring compliance thanks to fixed rules that companies can customise to suit their need.
Thanks to our PPM workflows, automated service reminders, and SLA compliance tools (to name a few), Commusoft is a great fit for multi-trade businesses: our software is equipped to handle HVAC, mechanical service, and facility maintenance alongside core plumbing & heating, electrical contractor, and gas engineering businesses.
Although Commusoft isn’t the best fit where CAFM software is concerned—Joblogic does do very well in this department—you will find that Commusoft is a perfect match for B2B2C property maintenance, as well as the growing electrical generator installation and maintenance industries.
You can find more of the industries that Commusoft is a match for on our Industries page.
Who is Joblogic for?
Joblogic’s website boasts a wide array of industries that the software serves and it’s fair to say that their tools can manage complex commercial service and maintenance contracts very well.
As mentioned, they also have built-in F-Gas tracking tailored for commercial refrigeration and air conditioning, with REFCOM, which is a strong feature and making them well-worth considering if that’s necessary for your business.
While their commercial focus is a strength, if your business revolves around boiler installations, landlord gas safety checks, and residential service calls, the breadth of Joblogic’s software may feel overly complex and less specialised compared to streamlined workflows. While you’ll still be able to complete work, you may find software bloat and less intuitive workflows adding on more time than should be necessary.

C.S Heating has used Commusoft since 2011. In that time, their business grew from a small team of two, to well over 20+ staff working for the company in 2026.
Without Commusoft, I wouldn’t have been able to grow as big as we are. I thought it would be me and three guys. But because of using Commusoft, I’ve been able to expand the business.
